Saudi Arabia will fully implement SASO IEC 62368-1:2010 standard on January 1, 2023



SASO IEC 62368-1:2010 (IEC 62368-1:2018) will be fully implemented by Saudi Arabia Standards Bureau on January 1, 2023.

Saudi Arabia Bureau of Standards (hereinafter referred to as SASO) will fully implement the SASO IEC 62368-1:2010 (IEC 62368-1:2018) standard on January 1, 2023.


Main contents:

  • The implementation date of SASO IEC 62368-1:2010 is postponed to January 1, 2023, that is, from January 1, 2023, only IEC 62368-1 version III CB certificate and test report (IECEE 62368-1: 2018) will be accepted.
  • The test report issued according to SASO IEC 62368-1:2017 (IEC 62368-1:2014 second edition) standard can continue to be used until December 30, 2022.
  • At the beginning of 2022, SASO, the Saudi Arabian Standards Organization, announced that it would adopt the new SASO IEC 62368-1:2010 (IEC 62368-1:2018) standard, which would replace SASO IEC 60950-1 and SASO-IEC 60065. After formal implementation, SASO will only accept SASO-IEC 62368-1:2010 standard to apply for SASO IECEE (SIRC) certificate.
  • SASO IEC 62368-1:2010 is a safety standard for audio, video and information communication products. Audio, video and information communication products exported to Saudi Arabia need to be tested according to this standard and can only be sold in Saudi Arabia after applying for a certificate of conformity on SABER system. Some audio, video and information communication products need to obtain IECEE CB test certificate and register SASO IECEE approval certificate according to this standard before they can apply for compliance certificate on SABER system, such as mobile phones and accessories (Bluetooth headset), laptops, tablets and accessories, smart watches, televisions and displays.
