◉ Chinese Food Contact Material Standards
At present, China has established a complete regulatory and standard framework for food contact materials and products, including general standards, product standards, testing standards and production specification standards. Among them, the declaration of conformity (DOC) and labeling requirements are specially proposed for product information, and a complete legal and regulatory system has been established, as follows:

(2) Product standards: pacifiers, enamel products, ceramic products, glass products, plastic resins, plastic materials and products, paper and cardboard materials and products, metal materials and products, paints and coatings have been released that correspond to GB 4806.2~11. Food contact materials and products standards for materials such as layers, rubber materials and products. In the future, standards for products such as bamboo and wood products, adhesives, composite materials, inks, lubricants, and textile fibers will be formulated.

◉ China Food Contact Product Labeling Verification
It is common for imported food contact products to fail to comply with Chinese laws, regulations and standards, and the relevant trade parties have not paid enough attention to the requirements of Chinese laws, regulations and standards, especially the issue of labeling, resulting in frequent failure of imported food contact products due to unqualified labels. The inspection and quarantine departments of our country implemented measures such as return, destruction and rectification, which caused huge economic losses to both sides of the trade.
According to the white paper "2015 National Quality of Imported Food Contact Products" issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, in 2015, the national inspection and quarantine agencies inspected a total of 108,007 batches of imported food contact products with a total value of 671.672 million US dollars, mainly including ceramic products, plastic products, metal products, paper products, etc. Products, home appliances and other material products, among which other material products are mainly glass products. In 2015, the national inspection and quarantine agencies detected 8,331 batches of unqualified imported food contact products, and the unqualified rate of inspection batches was 7.71%, including 7,751 batches of unqualified labels. Among the unqualified imported food contact products detected in 2015, the unqualified identification labels were mainly manifested in the absence of Chinese identification labels or the content of the identification labels did not conform to the regulations.
According to the "Specifications for Inspection and Supervision of Imported Food Contact Products" issued by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China: The labels and instructions on imported food contact products or their sales packaging should use standard Chinese characters, but not trademarks, and should meet the following requirements:
(1) The product name, material, country or region of production, importer's name, contact information and address should be marked;
(2) For products with a limited period of use, the period of use shall be clearly marked in a prominent position;
(3) Products that are likely to damage the product itself or may endanger personal and property safety due to improper use should have applicable conditions, warning signs or Chinese warning instructions
According to GB 4806.1-2016 "National Food Safety Standard General Safety Requirements for Food Contact Materials and Products", products should provide sufficient product information, including labels, instructions and other identification content and product qualification certificates to ensure that there is sufficient information for food contact materials. and products for safety assessment:
(1) The content of the logo shall include the product name, material, declaration of compliance with relevant regulations and standards, the name, address and contact information of the producer and (or) operator, production date and shelf life (if applicable), etc.;
(2) The final product of food contact materials and products should also be marked with "for food contact", "for food packaging" or similar terms, or printed or affixed with the logo of spoons and chopsticks, except for products with clear food contact purposes;
(3) Products with special usage requirements should be marked with the usage method, precautions, purpose, usage environment, usage temperature, etc. For the use conditions clearly specified in the relevant standards or products whose use conditions exceed the use conditions that will result in higher food safety risks, the use conditions should be specified in a special or conspicuous manner.
◉ How can Manufacturers Achieve Compliance?
(1) Compliance of production entities
According to Article 41 of the "Food Safety Law", for food-related products with high risks, such as packaging materials that come into direct contact with food, production licenses shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant national industrial product production license management regulations.
(2) Compliance in the production process
It is produced in accordance with the "GB 31603-2015 National Food Safety Standard, General Hygienic Specification for the Production of Food Contact Materials and Products".
(3) Product compliance
According to Article 52 of the Food Safety Law, producers of food-related products shall inspect the food-related products they produce in accordance with food safety standards, and can only leave the factory or sell them after passing the inspection.
(4) Sales compliance
Label and identify as required, and pass declaration of conformity as required.
