Nigeria requires mandatory energy efficiency labeling program for electrical products (SONMELS)
The Nigerian Standards Agency (SON) has officially launched the Mandatory Energy Efficiency Labeling Scheme (SONMELS), which requires regulated electrical products such as air conditioners and refrigerators to meet the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEPS) and energy efficiency labeling control system requirements before entering the Nigerian market.
