◉ Certification Introduction
Thai Industrial Standards Institute Certification is a mandatory or voluntary product certification system led by the Thai Industrial Standards Institute (TISI). All products included in the mandatory standard list must go through TISI's mandatory certification process and affix the official certification mark on the product before they can be legally sold in the Thai market. For products that meet the standards, the TISI logo is allowed to be used. For products that have not yet developed standards, TISI also implements product registration as a temporary certification method.

◉ Scope Of Certification
There are a total of 147 mandatory TISI standards in Thailand (based on the latest data from TISI official website as of July 9, 2025), covering areas such as electrical appliances, lighting, telecommunications and electronics, electricity, consumer goods, plastics, rubber and rubber products, chemicals, paints and varnishes, motor vehicles, steel, building materials, concrete, ceramics, medical equipment, food, mechanical devices, etc. In addition, the certification of other categories of products is voluntary certification. Voluntary certification can only be applied for by local manufacturers.

◉ Application process
(1) Determine certification type: Enterprises need to confirm whether the product falls within the scope of TISI mandatory certification.
(2) Submit application: Prepare materials, apply for product testing and factory evaluation.
(3) Product testing: Testing must comply with TISI standards (Thai industrial standards).
(4) Factory evaluation: For certain products (especially those involving high risks such as electrical appliances or building materials), TISI will send inspectors to audit the production factory to ensure that the factory's production process meets standards and the quality management system is sound (such as ISO 9001, etc.).
(5) Certificate issuance: TISI will evaluate whether the product meets Thai industrial standards based on test results and factory audit reports. If all pass, a TISI certification certificate will be issued.
◉ Required materials
(1) Application Form;
(2) Business licenses for product manufacturers and Thai importers;
(3) Product technical documents (such as design drawings, material specifications, product manuals);
(4) Factory ISO system certificate and quality control plan, process diagram, quality manual;
(5) Samples and sample customs clearance documents;
(6) Provide other auxiliary documents according to the actual situation.
◉ Precautions
(1) Promoting digital application: Thailand's TISI certification has implemented an online submission system (e-TISI), which allows applicants to submit certification applications online, greatly improving the convenience and efficiency of the application process.
(2) Aggravated punishment: The maximum fine for unverified products is 500000 Thai baht (approximately 14000 US dollars)+confiscation of goods.
(3) Electronic certificate on chain: The Thai Ministry of Industry is accelerating the implementation of the "Smart Authentication 2025" plan, realizing the on chain of electronic certificates, making certificate management and verification more convenient, efficient, and secure.
(4) Remote factory inspection: In the "Smart Certification 2025" plan, remote factory inspection technology is introduced to reduce the time and cost of traditional on-site factory inspections, and improve the flexibility and efficiency of factory inspections.
(5) Certificate Validity and Renewal: The validity period of TISI certification certificate is generally 3 years, and a renewal application must be submitted 6 months before the expiration.
(6) Local representative: Imported products require assistance from local agents or importers in Thailand to apply for certification;
