◉ Introduction to Sludge Testing
Sludge refers to the sediment, particulate matter and floating matter produced when wastewater is treated by physical, chemical, physical-chemical and biological methods. Sludge generally refers to a thick substance between liquid and solid, which can be pumped, but it is difficult to separate solid-liquid by sedimentation. The concentration of suspended solids is generally 1% to 10%, and the concentration below this is often called mud.
Sludge detection is to sample and test the sludge to determine the type and concentration of pollutants in the sludge.
Sludge identification is to identify the hazardous characteristics of sludge based on the results of sludge testing, and identify whether the sludge belongs to general solid waste or hazardous waste.
◉ Sludge Classification
(1) According to its source, it can be divided into:
Municipal sludge mainly refers to sludge from sewage plants, which is the largest type of sludge. In addition, sludge from waterworks also comes from municipal facilities and can be classified in this category.
Pipe network sludge, sludge from drainage collection systems.
The silt of rivers and lakes comes from the silt of rivers and lakes.
Industrial sludge, a mixture of solids and water, oil, chemical pollution, and organic matter from various industrial processes.
(2) According to different water treatment methods, it can be divided into:
Primary sludge: refers to the sediment produced during the primary treatment of sewage
Activated sludge: refers to the sediment produced in the secondary sedimentation tank of the activated sludge treatment process
Humic sludge: refers to the sediment produced in the secondary sedimentation tank in the sewage treatment process of the biofilm method (such as biological filter, biological turntable, part of the biological contact oxidation tank, etc.).
Chemical sludge: refers to the sludge produced after chemically enhanced primary treatment (or tertiary treatment).
Sedimentation sludge: sludge retained in the primary sedimentation tank, including physical sedimentation sludge, coagulation sedimentation sludge, and chemical sedimentation sludge.
◉ Service Area

(2) Identification of hazardous characteristics of sludge;
