◉ Introduction of Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA)
Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA for short), molecular formula is C8HO2F15, commonly known as C8, molecular weight 414.07, white crystal. Slightly soluble in water, melting point 52-56℃, boiling point 189℃. From octanoyl chloride as raw material, obtained by electrofluorination. A synthetic persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) chemical and a highly persistent and highly bioaccumulative (vPvB) chemical that is difficult to degrade and accumulates in the body after being absorbed, disrupting endocrine , affecting normal metabolism and reproduction.
◉ PFOA Application
It is mainly used as a dispersant in the polymerization of polytetrafluoroethylene and fluororubber, and also as a raw material and mineral processing agent for the preparation of hydrophobic and oleophobic agents.
(1) Used as a polymeric dispersant for CTFE, TEE and fluororubber.
(2) Mainly used as surfactants, emulsifiers, perfluorooctanoic acid and its sodium or ammonium salts as dispersants in tetrafluoroethylene polymerization and fluororubber production, and also as raw materials and mineral processing for the preparation of hydrophobic and oleophobic agents agent.
(3) It is used as high-efficiency surfactant, dispersant, additive, etc. Perfluorooctanoic acid and its derivatives, as important organic intermediates, can be used to synthesize fluorine-containing water and oil repellents, leather finishing agents and other products.
Applications of PFOA and its derivatives include surface treatment of household products (eg, non-stick cookware), convenience food packaging, and more.
◉ Involving Standards
In the international standard classification, pfoa involves leather technology, analytical chemistry, chemical products, and water quality.
In the Chinese standard classification, pfoa involves fur, leather, basic standards and general methods, basic standards and general methods for chemical additives, analytical methods for toxic substances in the water environment, basic standards and general methods, basic standards and general methods
