Time:

2023-09-12

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) released a pre release version of standard IEC 60704-2-13:2023 PRV "Household and similar electrical appliances - Test procedures for determining airborne noise - Part 2-13: Special requirements for cooking fume extraction and exhaust devices".

On August 4, 2023, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) released a pre release version of standard IEC 60704-2-13:2023 PRV "Household and similar electrical appliances - Test procedures for determining airborne noise - Part 2-13: Special requirements for cooking fume extraction and exhaust devices".

The IEC 60704-2-13:2023 standard is applicable to household and similar purposes, including cooking smoke suction and exhaust devices (including their accessories and accessories) used to filter indoor smoke or exhaust smoke to the outside. This standard also applies to cooking fume extraction and exhaust devices with external fans (which can be installed indoors or outdoors where the range hood is located), but cooking fume purifiers controlled by appliances have fans specified in the technical documents. This standard also applies to lower row systems installed on the side, rear, or bottom of cooking utensils.

Measurements conducted according to this standard can determine the noise emitted into rooms, which refer to rooms that emit cooking fumes. The noise emitted outdoors (such as through ventilation ducts) is not considered.

This fourth edition constitutes a technical revision, canceling and replacing the third edition of IEC 60704-2-13:2016 in 2016.

Compared to the old version, the new version has the following major technical changes:
a) Make it consistent with the IEC 61591:2023 standard;
b) Revised title, scope, and definitions 3.103 and 3.104: This standard covers cooking smoke suction and exhaust devices (including range hoods and lower exhaust systems);
c) Clarified the exhaust pipe of the lower exhaust system;
d) Clarified the built-in range hood for recirculation mode with air vents.

This standard should be used in conjunction with the IEC 60704-1:2021 standard.
