Updated American Toy Safety Standard ASTM F963 to version 2023

On October 13, 2023, the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) released the toy safety standard ASTM F963-23.

Currently, Federal Regulations 16 CFR 1250 still use ASTM F963-17.

Major updates to new standards

Heavy metals in substrate:

Provide a separate description of the exemption situation to make it clearer.

Phthalate ester:

After revision, it is consistent with federal regulations 16 CFR 1307.

Sound toys:

Revised the definition of certain sound toys to make them easier to distinguish.

Battery:

Higher requirements have been placed on the accessibility of batteries：

Toys over 8 years old also need to undergo abuse testing;
The screws on the battery cover must not come off after abuse testing;
The accompanying special tools for opening the battery compartment should be explained in the manual accordingly.

Expansion material:

Ejection toys:

The order of the clauses has been adjusted to make them more logical.

Added requirement for tracking labels.
