Update and Interpretation of UL 1026 Home Electric Cooking and Food Processing Standards in the United States

The updated content is summarized as follows:
1、 Clarify the requirements for power cord tension testing
Article 10.2.2.5 Revised Text Description
Clause 10.2.2.6 added judgment conditions
According to the updated standard requirements, when determining the results of the power line tension test, if any of the following situations exist, the structure providing stress relief is not acceptable:
The displacement of the power cord jacket does not meet the requirement of no stress at the electrical contact; or
The displacement of the wires inside the power cord sheath exceeds 2 millimeters
2、 As an optional alternative to meeting the requirements for persistent power cord labeling, UL 969A power cord labeling has been added
Clause 62.1 describes the evaluation of test results for permanent power cord labels
Text description of clauses 62.6, 67.25, 67.27, 69.12, and SB9.1 as amended
According to the updated standard requirements, the power cord label can meet any of the following conditions:
Label that meets the requirements of UL 969A standard; or
Evaluate and meet the labeling requirements for persistent power cord labels in accordance with Chapter 62 of the standard
UL 969A was published on July 29, 2020 and is a standard for related products such as flag labels and surround labels; By directly purchasing power cord labels that meet this standard, the durability testing of the labels on the end product can be avoided, reducing the testing and market time of the product.
This standard update has added alternative solutions and test result judgment for relevant clauses, providing more options for factory testing and certification.
