One article understanding | Electronic and electrical products listed on TEMU European Station CE-EMC certification

At present, the sale of live products on shelves or in European stations such as the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, and the EU requires CE certification. What kind of certification is this?

CE certification is an essential certification for the European Union. Products exported to the EU must comply with EU standards within the scope of the directive, and be labeled with the CE mark in order to be sold locally. Cross border e-commerce is no exception.

CE certification is divided into different directives based on products, mainly including the following modules:
1. CE-LVD Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (Low Voltage Directive)
Applicable to electronic and electrical products with AC voltage of 50V-1000V and DC voltage of 75V-1500V. Representative products include household appliances that require CE-LVD certification instructions, IT products that require CE-LVD certification instructions, AV products that require CE-LVD certification instructions, and live machinery that require CE-LVD certification instructions
2. CE-EMC Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/EU (Electromagnetic Compatibility)
Applicable to electronic and electrical products with built-in circuit boards that can generate electromagnetic interference. Representative products include household appliances that require CE-EMC certification instructions, IT products that comply with CE-EMC certification instructions, AV products that comply with CE-EMC certification instructions, and 3C digital products that comply with CE-EMC certification instructions.
3. CE-RED Radio Equipment and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU (RED)
Mainly suitable for wireless equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment, representative products include Bluetooth earphones CE-RED instruction certification, Bluetooth speakers CE-RED instruction certification, routers CE-RED instruction certification.
4. CE-ROHS Environmental Directive 2011/65/EU (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)
Suitable for live products such as electronic and electrical products, household appliances, audio and video equipment, lighting fixtures, electric tools, medical machinery, etc.
5. CE-MD Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
Applicable to mechanical products equipped with power systems, live machinery also needs to comply with CE-LVD certification instructions, representing products: packaging machinery needs to comply with CE-MD certification instructions, injection molding machinery needs to comply with CE - (MD+LVD) certification instructions, woodworking machinery CE - (MD+LVD) certification instructions, and construction machinery CE - (MD+LVD) certification instructions.
6. CE-PPE Personal Protective Equipment Directive 89/686/EEC (Personal Protective Equipment)
Suitable for devices or appliances worn on or carried by individuals to prevent one or more health and safety hazards. Representative products: Protective masks must comply with CE-PPE certification instructions, protective earplugs must comply with CE-PPE certification instructions, and safety helmets must comply with CE-PPE certification instructions.
7. CE-CPR Construction Products Directive (EU) 305/2011
Applicable to building materials products mainly used in construction, representative products: fire doors require CE-CPR certification instructions, protective door walls need to comply with CE-CPR certification instructions, and network cables need to comply with CE-CPR certification instructions.
8. CE-PED Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (Pressure Equipment Directive)
Applicable mainly to containers, pipelines, safety components, and pressure parts with a maximum withstand pressure higher than 0.5 bar, representative products: CE-PED certification directive for pressure valves.
9. CE-MDR General Medical Device Directive (EU) 2017/745 (Medical Devices Directive)
Mainly applicable to general medical device products, CE-MDR certification instructions for electrocardiographs, CE-MDR certification instructions for medical masks, and CE-MDR certification instructions for thermometers.
10. CE-EN71 Toy Directive 2009/48/EC (TOY)
Mainly applicable to toy products, plush toys CE-EN71 certification directive, and building block toys CE-EN71 certification directive.
11. CE-ATEX Explosion Protection Directive (94/9/EC)
Mainly suitable for use in scenarios where explosion accidents may occur, representative products have ATEX certification for explosion-proof lamps.
12. CE-RCD Yacht Directive 94/25/EC (Recreational craft)
Mainly suitable for yacht products.
13. CE-LIFTS Elevator Directive 95/16/EC (LIFES)
Mainly suitable for product elevators and other equipment.
14. CE-MID Measurement Instruments Directive 2004/22/EC
Mainly applicable to measurement instrument products, electronic scales CE-MID certification instructions, thermometers CE-MID certification instructions, and laser measuring instruments CE-MID certification instructions.

The requirement of TMEU this time is that CE-EMC is the electromagnetic compatibility EMC directive, with the directive number 2014/30/EU. Depending on the different products, they must comply with different standards, mainly divided into:
👉 Household appliances: EN 55014-1, EN55014-2
👉 Ordinary lighting fixtures, LED lighting products: EN 55015, EN 61547
👉 Audio and video, information technology equipment: EN 55032
👉 General equipment for residential, commercial, and light industrial environments: EN 61000-6-1, EN 61000-6-3
👉 Industrial general equipment: EN61000-6-2, EN61000-6-4
Electronic and electrical products applying for CE certification also need to comply with the CE-RoHS environmental protection directive. If the power supply voltage is higher than AC 50V and DC is higher than 75V, it needs to comply with the CE-LVD safety regulations directive. Electronic and electrical products with wireless modules also need to comply with the CE-RED wireless directive.
