Soliciting opinions on national mandatory standards such as "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Coatings Part 1: Architectural Coatings", "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Coatings Part 2: Industrial Coatings", "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Interior Decoration Materials Carpets, Carpet Pads, Adhesives for Carpet Laying, and PVC Flooring".

On July 17, 2024, in accordance with the mandatory national standard revision plan issued by the National Standards Committee, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology organized the completion of the preparation of nine mandatory national standards (draft for comments), including "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Coatings Part 1: Architectural Coatings", "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Coatings Part 2: Industrial Coatings", "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Interior Decoration Materials Carpets, Carpet Pads, Adhesives for Carpet Laying, and PVC Flooring". In order to further solicit opinions from all sectors of society, the draft standards for soliciting opinions and the preparation instructions will be publicly announced. The deadline for public announcement is September 14, 2024. During the public announcement period, relevant parties can provide feedback through the public announcement.

1、 The main contents of the two mandatory standards for coatings are as follows:
1. GB 30981 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Coatings" is divided into two parts: Part 1: Architectural Coatings; Part 2: Industrial Coatings.
2. The "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Coatings Part 1: Architectural Coatings" replaces GB 18582-2020 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Building Wall Coatings" and GB 38468-2019 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Indoor Floor Coatings", mainly based on GB 18582-2020, and integrates the content of GB 38468-2019.
3. The "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Coatings Part 2: Industrial Coatings" replaces GB 18581-2020 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Wood Coatings", GB 24613-2009 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Toy Coatings", GB 24409-2020 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Vehicle Coatings", GB 38469-2019 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Ship Coatings", and GB 30981-2020 "Limits of Hazardous Substances in Industrial Protective Coatings", mainly based on GB 30981-2020, integrating the contents of GB 18581-2020, GB 24613-2009, GB 24409-2020, and GB 38469-2019.

2、 The main content regarding the limit of harmful substances in indoor decoration materials such as carpets, carpet liners, adhesives for carpet paving, and polyvinyl chloride flooring is as follows:
Replace GB 18587-2001 "Limits of Harmful Substances Release from Interior Decoration Materials Carpets, Carpet Pads, and Carpet Adhesives" and GB 18586-2001 "Limits of Harmful Substances in Interior Decoration Materials Polyvinyl Chloride Roll Flooring".
