The transition implementation schedule of the new standard is updated as follows:

From March 1, 2023, the product conformity certificate (P-CoCs) and shipping conformity certificate (S-CoCs) of the above appliances can only be issued after they meet the requirements of the new standard. The technical documents of existing P-CoCs that are still valid after March 1, 2023 shall be updated to ensure that the new standards have been met at least before the subsequent issuance of S-CoCs.

From June 1, 2023, Saudi Arabia Customs will not allow the above-mentioned electrical appliances that do not meet the requirements of the new standard to enter the market. The requirements of the new standard are also mandatory for the above-mentioned electrical appliances produced locally in Saudi Arabia.

From August 1, 2024, the above appliances that do not meet the requirements of the new standard will be prohibited from being sold in Saudi Arabia.

It is worth noting that water storage electric water heaters, room heaters, and wire extension components are all included in the GSO low-voltage product technical regulation control list in the Gulf region. Therefore, when applying for the G mark certificate, if Saudi Arabia is one of the export destination countries, manufacturers should also pay attention to ensure that the products comply with the latest SASO standards in time, so as to avoid unnecessary shipment delay due to the impact on the subsequent application for the Saleem CoC certificate in Saudi Arabia.
