Starting from February 18, 2025, Amazon US requires all products on sale to pass DOE energy efficiency certification, otherwise they will be forcibly taken down. The scope of certification is extensive, and violations will result in delisting, fines, and account suspension. Sellers should immediately prepare certification documents, select testing agencies, update backend information, and actively respond to new regulations.
Recently, Amazon US released a major policy update: Starting from February 18, 2025, all products on sale must pass DOE (Department of Energy) energy efficiency certification, and non compliant products will be forcibly removed from the shelves! Afterwards, only products that have been verified by manufacturers or importers to comply with DOE standards are allowed for sale. This new regulation is directly related to the seller's product survival and account security, and must be acted upon immediately!

3. New regulations require
1️⃣Mandatory certification: Products must pass DOE certification to demonstrate compliance with US energy efficiency standards. This includes necessary documents such as energy efficiency labels and test reports.
2️⃣Data submission: Sellers need to upload DOE certification documents such as FCC, ENERGY STAR, etc. in the Amazon backend. If not submitted on time, the product will be taken down for processing.
3️⃣Traceability mechanism: Amazon may conduct spot checks on historical sales records, and if non compliant products are found, there is a risk of punishment or account suspension.
4. Consequences of Violation
1️⃣Product removal: Amazon will force the removal of unverified products, which will affect your sales stability and brand image.
2️⃣Huge fines: Once a product is found by the US Energy Agency to have failed certification, the seller will face a high fine calculated based on the product sold and the number of days it has been on the shelves. The fine accumulates over a one-year period and is often staggering in amount. For most sellers, this is undoubtedly a heavy burden.

Understand the DOE energy efficiency certification in the United States
The DOE energy efficiency certification in the United States is a mandatory certification implemented by the Department of Energy (DOE) in accordance with relevant electronic and electrical regulations, aimed at reducing energy consumption and environmental pollution. Certified goods must comply with the Energy Policy and Conservation Act (EISA) regulations and carry a DOE energy efficiency label.
DOE energy efficiency certification covers over 60 different types of products, including but not limited to household appliances, heating/cooling equipment, electronic products, and lighting products. - Information and audio-visual equipment: Information products such as set-top boxes and displays; Audio and video products such as DVD players and televisions.
- Bathroom products: showerheads, faucets, toilets, etc.
- Commercial equipment: commercial hot water equipment, commercial ice makers, walk-in coolers, and freezers.
- Industrial equipment: transformers, motors, specialized swimming pool pump motors.
How should sellers respond to the new DOE certification regulations?
1. Check the product immediately
Check if the products sold require DOE certification. If necessary, prepare relevant certification documents immediately.

3. Submit complete technical documentation
