Malaysia reports the "Guidelines for Approval of Electrical Equipment (Electricity Regulations 1994) 2024 Edition", which will come into effect on June 21, 2025.
On April 24, 2025, Malaysia reported the "Guidelines for the Approval of Electrical Equipment (Electricity Regulations 1994) 2024 Edition" (GP/ST/No. 37/2024).
The main contents stipulated in this guideline are as follows:
——List of regulated electrical equipment;
——The procedures and conditions that applicants should follow when submitting the following applications:
1) Manufacturing or Import Registration Certificate (CoR);
2) CoR as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB);
3) Certificate of Approval (CoA) for the import, manufacture, display, sale or promotion of any electrical equipment;
4) Renewal of CoA for importing, manufacturing, displaying, selling or promoting any electrical equipment;
5) National deviation;
6) Energy efficiency;
7) Label requirements.
This guide applies to all manufacturers, importers, exhibitors, sellers, and advertisers of any regulated electrical equipment, as well as registered laboratories and certification bodies. This guideline will come into effect on June 21, 2025.
