CCC version change requirements for liquid heaters

01. Scope of applicable products

This document specifies the safety requirements for household and similar liquid heaters.

This document is applicable to household and similar liquid heaters with a rated voltage not exceeding 250V. Examples of appliances are as follows: coffee machine, cooking pan, egg cooker, electric kettle and other boiling devices that produce boiling water with a rated volume of not more than 10L, milk heater, feeding bottle heater, pressure cooker with a rated cooking pressure of not more than 140kPa and a fixed volume of not more than 10L, rice cooker, stew, steamer, soybean milk machine, electric teapot, boiling washer, yogurt machine. Instruments may have multiple functions.

This document also applies to appliances intended for general household and similar use, as well as for use by non professionals in shops, light industries, and farms. Examples of utensils are as follows: a glue pot with a water jacket, a livestock feed steamer, and a sterilizer.

02、Main technological changes

Classify soybean milk machine into the category of liquid heater. New applications for soybean milk machine products and new standards need to install liquid heater standards for the whole project;

Modified the testing methods for coffee machines and added electromagnetic rice cookers;

Added relevant test methods for instruments with insulation function on the outer surface;

Modified the working time requirements for steam pressure coffee machines;

Added moisture resistance test methods for rice cookers and detachable coffee pots;

Clearly state that all thermal controllers that operate during the testing period in Chapter 11 are simultaneously short circuited, and increase the electrical strength test after the test;

Added abnormal testing for appliances with insulation function on the outer surface, etc.

03、Key Interpretation

  • Modified the leakage current limit for Class II structures at operating temperature

Old version: 0 for Class II appliances  25 mA;

New version: 0.35mA peak for Class II appliances and components of Class II structures.

  • Adjusted the temperature rise limit on the surface of the electric appliance casing and handle

  • For devices that stop the expected operation of the equipment, they should be distinguished from other devices by size, shape, surface texture, or position.
