The State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and the National Standardization Administration approved the release of GB 5749-2022 "Sanitary Standards for Drinking Water" on March 15, 2022, which will be implemented on April 1, 2023.

The State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and the National Standardization Administration approved the release of GB 5749-2022 "Sanitary Standards for Drinking Water" on March 15, 2022, which will be implemented on April 1, 2023.

The original standard GB5749-2006 "Sanitary Standard for Drinking Water" has been implemented for nearly 15 years since July 1, 2007. The new sanitary standard for drinking water has been issued, and the original standard has been revised. This time, the scope of the standard has been revised, normative references have been updated, terms and definitions such as centralized water supply, small-scale centralized water supply, secondary water supply, factory water, and peripheral water indicators have been improved or added or deleted, as well as editorial changes have been made to the text of some clauses.

Water quality indicators

01. Total Index Adjustment

The water quality indicators have been adjusted from 106 items in GB5749-2006 to 97 items. Including: 43 regular indicators and 54 expanded indicators. Add 4 indicators and delete 13 indicators.

02. Four new indicators
