REACH new regulations! Add 24 more CMR substances

The European Commission officially published Regulation (EU) 2023/1132 on its official website bulletin to update the list of CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic or Reproductive toxicity) substances in Annex XVII of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006.

On June 8, 2023, the European Commission officially published Regulation (EU) 2023/1132 on its official website bulletin to update the list of CMR (carcinogenic, mutagenic or Reproductive toxicity) substances in Annex XVII of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. This regulation shall come into effect on the 20th day from the date of publication of the Gazette, and the following articles (2) and (5) shall apply from December 1, 2023.

The specific updates to Annex XVII of REACH regulations are as follows:

1. In Appendix 1, replace the terms with search number 033-005-00-1 with the following:

According to Articles 28, 29, and 30 of Annex XVII of the REACH Regulation, when a specific concentration limit is exceeded, it is prohibited to place CMR substances and their mixtures listed in Appendix 1-6 of Annex XVII, belonging to Class 1A or 1B, on the market and for use by the general public.
