Australia and New Zealand - Major standard updates for home appliance products

The main standard for Australian home appliance products, AS/NZS 60335.1:2020+A1, will replace the old version and be officially implemented on November 26, 2023.
The main standard for Australian home appliance products, AS/NZS 60335.1:2020+A1, will replace the old version and be officially implemented on November 26, 2023.
Australian certificates that comply with the old version of the standard will continue to be valid for a period of 5 years, but it is still recommended that certificate holders upgrade to the new version of the standard as soon as possible to comply with technical regulations.
In addition, regarding AS/NZS 60335.1:2022 (Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Safety General Requirements (IEC 60335-1 Ed 6, MOD), this standard adopts the revised version of the sixth edition of IEC 60335-1 for national requirements such as Australia and New Zealand.
The 2022 version of AS/NZS 60335.1 can only be used in conjunction with the corresponding Part 2 of AS/NZS 60335 based on this version. AS/NZS 60335.1:2020 and its revisions shall remain valid until the second part used in conjunction with it is completely withdrawn. At present, the revocation date of AS/NZS 60335.1:2020 and its revisions (dow) has not been determined.
