Argentina ENACOM relaxes some product testing requirements

Time:

2023-12-27

The Argentine National Communications Administration (ENACOM) allows motion detection radar equipment in the 57-71GHz frequency band to be certified using standardized reports (such as ANATEL, IFETEL, FCC, or similar regulatory bodies recognized by ENACOM), and no longer requires testing locally in Argentina.

The Argentine National Communications Administration (ENACOM) issued a notice on November 10, 2023, allowing motion detection radar equipment in the frequency range of 57-71GHz to be certified using standardized reports (such as ANATEL, IFETEL, FCC or similar regulatory bodies recognized by ENACOM), and no longer requiring testing locally in Argentina. Among them, the antenna gain value in the report of motion detection radar equipment in the frequency band of 57-71GHz shall not exceed 40dBm, and the peak value shall not exceed 43dBm

The Argentine ENACOM certification is a mandatory certification for wireless and telecommunications products, and the vast majority of telecommunications line terminal equipment and RF equipment require local testing.

So, what are the common products that need to be sent to Argentina for local testing?

1. All terminal devices connected to the public telephone network and low-power spread spectrum communication products operating in the 2.4-2.4835GHz frequency band;

2. The vast majority of radio equipment;

3. When the output power of the product meets any of the following conditions:

a. The peak value of conducted power exceeds 500mW;

b. The average gain of the antenna in the radiation power measurement exceeds 40dBm, and the peak value exceeds 43dBm;

c. The average power density exceeds 13dBm/MHz;
