Latest Notice on G-Mark Certification

Starting from July 31, 2024, G-Mark certification reports must comply with new regulations: the time of obtaining test results should not exceed three years from the time of application submission, the standard version must be currently valid, the test report must specify product traceability, and a statement of conformity must be provided and signed for confirmation if the model does not match.
According to the latest notice issued by GSO regarding the recognition principles of G-Mark certification reports, starting from July 31, 2024, all reports applying for G-Mark certification must meet the requirements of the notice (as follows), otherwise they will not be accepted.
01. Time limit requirement for acceptance of test results
a) The time for obtaining test results for applying for G-Mark certification should not exceed three years from the submission of the application.
b) It means that the period from the end of the testing to the submission of the application shall not exceed three years.
c) The issuance date of the test report may be later than the end date of the test, and the starting date is always based on the end date of the test.
d) The reissue of test reports should meet the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, such as errata, supplementary data, etc.
Note: It is unacceptable for some laboratories to issue new test reports citing the original test data after three years without retesting the products.
e) In addition to the time of test results affecting the recognition of the report, the standard version used for testing also affects the recognition of the report. It should be noted that the standard version used for testing is the current valid version adopted by GSO.
02. Traceability of Test Reports and Certified Products Application
To clarify the correlation between the test report and the certified product, the following internal traceability must be reflected in the report:
a) The test report should specify the relevant manufacturer, brand, and product model used for applying for certification.
b) If the production address is reflected in the report, it should be consistent with the information in the certification application.
c) The test report should include sufficient photo information of the test samples, especially the test report for the series model application, so that the certification body can fully evaluate the certified product.
03. Use of Product Consistency Declaration
a) If the product model in the test report does not directly correspond to the product model applied for certification, the applicant should provide a Product Consistency Declaration (PID/DOI Declaration of Identity) to explain the relationship, similarities, and differences between the test model and the certified model, and include all associated test report information.
b) PID/DOI should be signed by the manufacturer or its authorized representative (such as the technical manager or management representative), and should be signed in a formal letter displaying the official information of the signing company (including company name and address).
