Energy Efficiency Testing Standard for Refrigeration Appliances EN 62552-1/-2/-3:2020 Supplement A11:2024
Time:
2024-08-26
The European Union has released the revised EN62552 series of energy efficiency testing standards for refrigeration appliances, which will be enforced by 2025. The revision involves testing fences, temperature control, noise testing, and other aspects, adding definitions for mobile refrigeration equipment and temperature and humidity requirements for wine cabinets, and adjusting the calculation method for power consumption.
On August 2, 2024, the Central Secretariat of the European Union released the energy efficiency testing standard EN 62552-1:2020/A11:2024 for refrigeration appliances, which has been approved by CEN/CENELEC EN 62552-2:2020/A11:2024、EN 62552-3:2020/A11:2024。
These standards will be enforced in EU member states on February 2, 2025.

Important changes in standards
Revision 1: Detailed requirements for testing fences with embedded devices in Appendix B.
Revision 2: The requirement for low height compartments in Appendix D has been added to include sub compartments, clarifying the placement of TMP12 and TMP13 temperature sensors in the freezer compartment.
Revision 3: The description of freezing capacity in the test report has been revised from kg/12h to kg/24h.
Revision 4: The normative reference document noise testing standard version has been updated to EN 60704-2-14:2013+A1:2015+A1:2019+A2:2024.
Revision 5: The temperature assessment of the freezer compartment in the automatic ice making capacity test has been changed from the maximum and minimum temperatures to the average temperature.
Revision 6: The method for placing the load in the storage temperature test has added requirements for the placement of the load pack in the container, an example diagram for non planar load placement, and additional requirements for the placement gap between the side and top of the pack.
Revision 7: Explanation of temperature control settings for freezing capacity test and temperature rise test, as well as refinement of requirements for freezing load determination.
Revision 8: Description of defrosting intervals for variable defrosting controllers.
Revision 9: The temperature between two points using the power consumption interpolation method shall not exceed 4K, and all rooms shall be changed to rooms used for power consumption calculation.
Add 1: Definition of mobile refrigeration equipment, calculation method for Edaily 16 ℃ of mobile refrigeration equipment.
Add 2: Appendix G has added requirements for defrosting and temperature recovery during the recovery period for temperature fluctuations in the wine cabinet. The range of relative humidity RHwim inside the wine cabinet is 50% -80%.
Add 3: The value of the stable power correction parameter △ COP at an ambient temperature of 25 ℃.
