Time:

2025-05-19

Vietnam has issued new wireless regulations, which not only open up the 6GHz frequency band to support Wi Fi 6E/7, but also expand the scope of wireless charging applications, effective from May 15, 2025.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) issued Announcement No. 01/2025/TT-BKHCN on March 31, 2025, revising and supplementing Announcement No. 08/2021/TT-BTTTT issued on October 14, 2021. This revision not only opens up the 6GHz frequency band to support Wi Fi 6E/7, but also expands the scope of wireless charging applications, paving the way for the smart device market, and will take effect from May 15, 2025.

The main contents of this revision are as follows

★ Open the 6GHz frequency band (5925-6425 MHz) to WLAN/RLAN devices;

★ Expand the wireless charging frequency band from 326.5kHz-340kHz to 315kHz-400kHz.

The affected products are:
◆ Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and Regional Network (RLAN) devices;

◆ Consumer electronics: wireless fast charging for mobile phones and headphones;

◆ Industrial Internet of Things: Wireless power supply for sensors and AGV robots;

◆ Low power devices: medical wearables, intelligent security.

Tips

In response to the new regulations of the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology on the 6GHz frequency band, relevant enterprises exporting to Vietnam need to immediately carry out comprehensive self-examination work: firstly, carefully check whether the wireless functional frequency band of the product complies with the revised range of 5925-6425MHz; Secondly, accurately compare the differences between the transmission power, bandwidth, and other parameters of existing equipment and the new limit values to ensure compliance with indoor use and electromagnetic shielding requirements.

At the same time, enterprises can entrust testing and certification agencies to complete local chemical compliance testing, update technical documents in a timely manner based on test results, and adjust product labels in a standardized manner to ensure that products can smoothly enter the Vietnamese market after the new regulations come into effect on May 15th, avoiding trade risks caused by non-compliance.
