Korean energy efficiency certification launches new feature of 'batch declaration of additional models', greatly simplifying the process

The Korea Energy Agency (KEA) announced the official launch of the "Batch Declaration of Additional Models" function from October 15, 2025, aimed at providing greater convenience for manufacturers and importers to declare additional models of energy efficiency management equipment, marking a new level of digital energy efficiency management services in Korea.

The Korea Energy Agency (KEA) is a public institution responsible for implementing national energy policies, dedicated to improving energy efficiency, promoting new and renewable energy, and addressing climate change. Recently, the organization announced the official launch of the "Batch Declaration of Additional Models" function from October 15, 2025, aiming to provide greater convenience for manufacturers and importers in declaring additional models of energy efficiency management equipment, marking a new level of digital energy efficiency management services in South Korea.

01. Main changes

Old rule: If a company needs to submit additional models for three devices, it must complete three independent application and approval procedures, which are time-consuming and laborious.

New regulation: After the launch of the new feature, enterprises can simultaneously apply for and obtain approval to add multiple models in a single application process, greatly reducing the administrative burden and time cost of enterprises. This transformative improvement will apply to both the level application and level addition processes, covering 34 energy efficiency management products that can be automatically approved.

02. Not applicable to products

Six types of products, including incandescent lamps, three-phase induction motors, window components, multi connected electric heat pump systems, adapters and chargers, and computers, are currently not eligible for automatic approval mechanisms and still need to be declared separately according to the original procedures.
