Energy efficiency regulation requirements for air conditioners in South Africa

Air conditioning products under the control of the South African National Compulsory Standards Management Committee must obtain the LOA certificate before entering the South African market. The LOA certificate is divided into safety regulation LOA certificate and energy efficiency LOA certificate.
Air conditioning products under the control of the South African National Compulsory Standards Management Committee must obtain the LOA certificate before entering the South African market. The LOA certificate is divided into safety regulation LOA certificate and energy efficiency LOA certificate.
To enter the South African market for sales, the products must meet the minimum energy efficiency standards (MEPS) issued by the Ministry of Energy of South Africa, obtain the energy efficiency LOA certificate, and attach energy efficiency labels.

Electrical parameter requirements:
● Single phase 230V
● Frequency 50Hz
Product type requirements:
● It is applicable to wall mounted, window mounted and mobile air conditioners with cooling capacity within 7.1kW (24000Btu/h).
