Transformer and power supply device for toys
On April 7, 2023, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) released a pre release version of standard IEC 61558-27:2023 PRV "Safety of Transformers, Reactors, Power Supply Units and Their Combinations - Part 2-7: Special Requirements and Tests for Transformers and Power Supply Units for Toys".
The IEC 61558-2-7:2023 standard specifies the safety requirements for toy transformers and power devices equipped with toy transformers, as well as toy transformers with electronic circuits.
Compared to the old version, the new version has the following major technical changes:
a) Adjust the structure and references according to the IEC 61558-1:2017 standard;
b) Added a new symbol for power supply devices with linearly adjustable output voltage.
According to the IEC 104 guidelines, this version of the standard has the status of a group safety publication.
Two
Standard for low-voltage electrical installations
On April 28, 2023, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) released a pre release version of standard IEC 60364-7-716:2023 "Low voltage electrical installations - Part 7-716: Requirements for special installations or locations - ELV DC power distribution on information and communication technology (ICT) cable infrastructure".
The standard specifies the requirements for the use of balanced information technology cables and accessories designed primarily for data transmission in electrical installations to distribute ELV direct current. These cables and accessories are classified in the channel of ISO/IEC 11801-1 and use power supply equipment that complies with IEC 62368-3 standards.
The requirements of this standard include the design, installation, and verification of telecommunications infrastructure to achieve the distribution of telecommunications and ELV DC power. In addition, the standard also includes the requirement to use existing telecommunications infrastructure to distribute ELV DC power. The power transmission system includes, but is not limited to, the power over Ethernet system specified in IEEE 802.3.
This standard is not applicable to the use of cables and accessories for core and access networks, such as programmable telephone exchanges (PBX).
