IEC issues special requirements and testing standards for ignition transformers for dual purpose oil and gas burners
On June 23, 2023, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) issued the standard IEC 1558-2-3:2023 Safety of Transformers, Reactors, Power Supply Devices and Their Assemblies - Part 2-3: Special Requirements and Tests for Ignition Transformers for Oil and Gas Burners, which is provided in the form of IEC 61558-2-3:2023 RLV standard, including the international standard and its red line version, showing all changes in technical content compared with the Japanese standard.
This standard mainly specifies the safety of ignition transformers for oil and gas dual purpose burners, and its application scope covers ignition transformers with electronic circuits.
This third edition of the standard constitutes a technical revision, canceling and replacing the second edition of IEC 61558-2-3:2010 in 2010. Compared with the old version, the new standard has made adjustments to the framework structure and references according to IEC 61558-1:2017.
According to IEC 104 guidelines, this document meets the requirements of group safety publications.
