The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) issued standard IEC 63086-1:2020+AMD1:2023 "Electronic air purification appliances for household and similar purposes - Performance measurement methods - Part 1: General requirements".
On July 21, 2023, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) issued standard IEC 63086-1:2020+AMD1:2023 "Electronic air purification appliances for household and similar purposes - Performance measurement methods - Part 1: General requirements".
The IEC 63086-1:2020+AMD1:2023 standard is applicable to electric household and similar air purifiers with rated voltage circuits, single-phase AC input not exceeding 250V and DC input not exceeding 48V. If the testing method in this standard is used for combination products with air purification function (air conditioning, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, heaters, etc.), then this method is only applicable to its air purification function during testing. This standard also covers battery powered equipment. Dual power appliances, whether powered by power or battery, are considered battery powered devices when operating in battery mode.
This standard does not apply to:
-Instruments designed specifically for industrial use;
-Instruments used in medical facilities, such as operating rooms, laboratories, medical rooms, etc.
-Smoke exhaust appliances for household range hoods or cooking equipment - refer to IEC 61591 standard.
This first edition of the standard cancels and replaces the 2008 IEC PAS 62587 standard.
