CEC certification is the Appliance Efficiency Regulations implemented by the California Energy Commission on December 30, 2005, with the aim of improving the efficiency of electronic and electrical products, conserving energy, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions.

CEC certification covers 58 categories of products, including home appliances, lighting fixtures, audio and video products, power supplies, information technology, televisions, small battery charging systems, large battery charging systems, transformer products, motor products, bathroom products, etc.

CEC certification is mandatory. According to this regulation, electronic and electrical products within the scope of CEC certification must be tested in a laboratory authorized by the California Energy Commission to prove compliance before they can be sold in the California market. Otherwise, they cannot be sold in California.
