The National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center has released a solicitation for opinions on six new varieties of food related products, including additives, new varieties of resins, and expanding the scope of use.
On September 2, 2024, the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center released the "Public Solicitation of Opinions on Six New Varieties of Food Related Products Including Polyisobutylene".
6 new varieties of food related products
1. Expand the scope of use of additives for food contact materials and products:
Polyisobutene
Copolymer of isobutene and butene
Ammonium salt of acrylic acid and ethylene polymer
Polymer of Chloro-N, N, N-trimethyl-2- [(1-Oxo-2-propenyl) ethoxyammonium] and 2-acrylamide
2. New varieties of resins for food contact materials and products:
Polymer of benzyl methacrylate and 2-methyl-2-acrylate 1,2-ethylene glycol ester
3. Expanded use of resins for food contact materials and products:
2,6-Naphthalenedioic acid 2,6-dimethyl ester polymer with 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, 1,2-ethylene glycol, 2,2 '- oxobis [ethanol], and β 3, β 3, β 9, β 9-tetramethyl-2,4,8,10-tetraoxaspiro [5.5] undecane-3,9-diethanol
