Four atmospheric fixed source pollutant emission standards, including the "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants in Coking Chemical Industry (GB 16171.1-2024)", "Technical Specifications for Ultra low Emission Control of Sintering Waste Gas in Iron and Steel Industry (HJ 1408-2024)", "Technical Specifications for Harmless Disposal of Ozone Depleting Substances in Rotary Kilns (HJ 1382-2024)", and "Emission Standards for Coalbed Methane (Coal Mine Gas) (GB 21522-2024 replaces GB 21522-2008)", will be officially implemented from April 1, 2025.
The emission standards for atmospheric fixed source pollutants, including the "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants in Coking Chemical Industry (GB 16171.1-2024)", "Technical Specifications for Ultra low Emission Control of Sintering Waste Gas in Iron and Steel Industry (HJ 1408-2024)", "Technical Specifications for Harmless Disposal of Ozone Depleting Substances in Rotary Kilns (HJ 1382-2024)", and "Emission Standards for Coalbed Methane (Coal Mine Gas) (GB 21522-2024 replaces GB 21522-2008)" issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, will be officially implemented from April 1, 2025.

The "Emission Standards for Air Pollutants in Coking Chemical Industry" stipulate the requirements for controlling, monitoring, and supervising the emission of air pollutants in coking chemical industry. This standard applies to the management of atmospheric pollutant emissions from existing coking chemical industry enterprises or production facilities, as well as the environmental impact assessment, environmental protection facility design, completion of environmental protection facility acceptance, issuance of pollutant discharge permits, and management of atmospheric pollutant emissions after commissioning of coking chemical industry construction projects.
The Technical Specification for Ultra low Emission Control of Sintering Waste Gas in the Iron and Steel Industry stipulates the technical requirements for pollutants and pollution loads, overall requirements, process design, main process equipment and materials, detection and process control, main auxiliary engineering, construction and acceptance, operation and maintenance of ultra-low emission control projects for sintering waste gas in the iron and steel industry. Suitable for the ultra-low emission control project of sintering waste gas in the steel industry, it can serve as a technical basis for engineering consulting, engineering design, construction, commissioning, acceptance, operation, and management maintenance.
The Technical Specification for Harmless Disposal of Ozone Depleting Substances in Rotary Kilns specifies the technical requirements for the reception, storage, disposal, and environmental monitoring and management involved in the process of incinerating and disposing of ozone depleting substances in rotary kilns. Applicable to the environmental management of the disposal of ozone depleting substances by units engaged in co current rotary kiln incineration and disposal activities. Not applicable to environmental management of incineration disposal activities of ozone depleting substances containing bromine.
The "Emission Standards for Coalbed Methane (Coal Mine Gas)" stipulate the extraction requirements, emission control requirements, monitoring requirements, implementation, and supervision of coalbed methane (coal mine gas). Applicable to the emission control and management of coalbed methane (coal mine gas) in existing underground coal mines and coalbed methane surface development systems, as well as the environmental impact assessment, design, completion acceptance, and post construction coalbed methane (coal mine gas) emission control management of new underground coal mines and coalbed methane surface development system projects.
This standard has mandatory enforcement effect. Starting from April 1, 2025, new underground coal mines and coalbed methane ground development systems are required to comply with the above standards for coalbed methane (coal mine gas) emission control, and no longer comply with the relevant provisions of the "Coalbed Methane (Coal Mine Gas) Emission Standards (Interim)" (GB 21522-2008).
