The Eurasian Economic Union has released a traceability mechanism for household appliances and other goods, which will take effect on September 1, 2026, with the addition of QR codes for system registration and traceability

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) has officially announced the list of goods managed by a traceability mechanism, which will be fully enforced in the member states (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Asia, Kyrgyzstan) from September 1, 2026. The core of the traceability mechanism is to assign a unique Data Matrix QR code to each product. Importers and manufacturers need to complete registration in the "Integrity Mark" system as soon as possible, establish corresponding coding application and coding processes, and prohibit the entry and sale of products without traceability codes.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) recently issued a statement officially announcing the list of goods imported into the EAEU customs territory that must be included in the traceability mechanism management, and clarifying that the mechanism will be fully enforced in the Union countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Asia, Kyrgyzstan) from September 1, 2026. This is an important measure taken by the Eurasian Economic Union to strengthen the supervision of imported goods and combat counterfeit and shoddy products, and also marks a new stage in the supervision system of commodity circulation within the alliance.

First Stage (Starting from September 1, 2026)

According to the latest published scope of regulated products, the newly added categories included in the traceability mechanism cover household refrigerators and freezers, washing machines, display and projector and television equipment, baby strollers and child safety seats, as well as special engineering machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, and loaders. Once these categories are included in the mandatory list, relevant imported products must fully comply with traceability requirements throughout the entire process.

Subsequent Expansion

By the end of 2026, the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission will consider expanding the list of goods included in the system. More product categories will be added in the future to achieve stricter regulation.

Traceability mechanism

Unique digital identifier (Data Matrix QR code)

The core of the traceability mechanism is to assign a unique Data Matrix QR code to each product, which serves as the product's "digital passport" to verify its legitimacy at every stage of the supply chain. Ownership changes must be fully recorded in the database, and retail transactions also require confirmation via code scanning. Operated by the Advanced Technology Development Center (CRPT), the system aims to eliminate counterfeit, smuggled, and non-compliant products from circulation, achieving transparent management across the entire supply chain.

"Integrity Mark" system registration

The complete list of regulated products can be found on the official website of Chestny ZNAK. Importers and manufacturers need to complete registration in the "Integrity Mark" system as soon as possible, establish corresponding coding application and coding processes, and ensure that all links in the supply chain can accurately report commodity circulation data.

Starting from September 1, 2026, the traceability mechanism will be fully operational, and it is recommended that products without traceability codes be prohibited from entering and selling.
