The certification certificate for household refrigerators and freezers using hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) as refrigerants should be changed before December 31, 2025. Failure to complete the certificate within the deadline will result in the cancellation of the relevant certification certificate. Starting from January 1, 2026, the production of household refrigerators and freezers using hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) as refrigerants will be prohibited.

Two national standards for smart home appliances, GB/T 28219.1-2025 "Technical Requirements and Evaluation for Intelligent Home Appliances - Part 1: General Requirements" and GB/T 46550.1-2025 "Application Scenarios for Smart Home Appliances - Part 1: General Requirements", will be officially implemented on May 1, 2026. These two national standards clearly define smart home appliances from two key dimensions: "intelligent capability" and "scene effect". The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam has issued Notice No. 52/2025/TT-BCT, requiring three major categories of products to be labeled with mandatory VNEEP (Vietnam National Energy Efficiency Plan) energy efficiency labels, covering household appliances (such as air conditioners, refrigerators, etc.), office and commercial equipment (such as commercial refrigerators, laptops, etc.), and industrial equipment (such as distribution transformers, etc.), which will officially come into effect on January 1, 2026.

The mandatory national standard GB 29539-2025 "Energy Efficiency Limits and Grades for Household and Similar Use Range Hood and Ventilator" will be officially implemented on November 1, 2026. The new standard integrates the energy efficiency requirements for range hoods and ventilation fans into one standard, replacing the two standards GB 29539-2013 and GB 32049-2015. The new standard sets the energy efficiency level of range hoods at level 3 and includes DC ventilation fans in the regulatory scope, comprehensively improving the energy efficiency indicators of household and similar ventilation appliances.

On December 15, 2025, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) agreed to designate n-hexane and 4,4 '- [2,2,2-trifluoro-1- (trifluoromethyl) ethylene] bisphenol (BPAF) and its salts as substances of high concern (SVHC), with plans to include these two substances in the SVHC candidate list by February 2026.
