◉ China Energy Efficiency Labeling
Energy efficiency labeling is the abbreviation for energy efficiency labeling, which is an information label attached to energy consuming products or their smallest packaging to indicate performance indicators such as product energy efficiency levels. The purpose is to provide necessary information for users and consumers' purchasing decisions, in order to guide and assist consumers in choosing high-efficiency and energy-saving products.
The energy efficiency labeling system in China was implemented on March 1, 2005, and the filing of energy efficiency labeling is a mandatory national energy efficiency standard.

As of now, the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China, in conjunction with the State Administration for Market Regulation, has released a total of 15 batches of product catalogs implementing energy efficiency labeling, covering 42 categories of products including household appliances, commercial, office electronics, lighting, etc., including: household refrigerators, room air conditioners, electric washing machines, modular air conditioners, self ballasted fluorescent lamps for general lighting, high-pressure sodium lamps, small and medium-sized three-phase asynchronous motors, chillers, household gas rapid water heaters and gas heating water heaters, speed controlled room air conditioners, multi split air conditioning (heat pump) units, water storage electric water heaters, household induction cookers, computer monitors, copiers, printers and fax machines, rice cookers, electric fans, AC contactors, volumetric air compressors, etc. Power transformers, ventilation fans, flat screen televisions Household and similar use microwave ovens, digital TV receivers (set-top boxes), remote condensing unit refrigerated display cabinets, household solar water heating systems, microcomputers, range hoods, heat pump water heaters, household gas stoves, commercial gas stoves, water (ground) source heat pump units, lithium bromide absorption chillers, non directional self ballasted LED lights for general lighting, projectors, household and similar use AC fans, portable condensing unit commercial refrigerators, permanent magnet synchronous motors, air purifiers, LED lamps for road and tunnel lighting, duct air conditioning units, low ambient temperature air source heat pump (chiller) units.
◉ Implementation of Energy Efficiency Labeling
China adopts a mandatory energy efficiency labeling system. Article 4 of the "Management Measures for Energy Efficiency Labeling" stipulates that "all products listed in the" Catalogue of Products with Energy Efficiency Labeling "(hereinafter referred to as the" Catalogue ") shall be labeled with a unified energy efficiency label in a prominent position on the product or the smallest packaging of the product, and shall be explained in the product manual." For energy consuming products listed in the "Catalogue" that are traded through the internet, the corresponding energy efficiency label shall also be prominently displayed on the main page of the product information display. Failure to label energy efficiency labels on products listed in the Catalogue in accordance with the Energy Efficiency Labeling Management Measures and corresponding implementation rules is an illegal act and will result in punishment.

Energy efficiency labeling is divided into two types: Level 3 energy efficiency and Level 5 energy efficiency. Taking Level 5 energy efficiency as an example, Level 1 indicates that the product has reached the international advanced level, is the most energy-efficient, and has the lowest energy consumption; Level 2 indicates relatively energy-saving; Level 3 indicates that the energy efficiency of the product is at the average level of the Chinese market; Level 4 indicates that the energy efficiency of the product is lower than the market average level; Level 5 is a market access indicator, and products below this level are not allowed to be produced or sold.

Producers and importers of energy consuming products listed in the Catalogue may entrust third-party inspection and testing institutions that have obtained qualifications in accordance with the law to conduct testing on the products, and determine the energy efficiency level of the products based on mandatory national standards for energy efficiency.
